The County of Maui Office of Recovery and Maui Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) are encouraging residents and businesses to report storm damage to private property from Tropical Storm Lala to help officials document the extent of damage and support recovery efforts.

Reports of damage to private property can be submitted through Crisis Track at https://mauirecovers.org.

Submitting a report does not provide direct assistance to individuals or businesses, but it will help the County document the full extent of storm damage.

“The more complete and accurate your information is, the better it can support Maui County’s request for disaster assistance,” said MEMA Administrator Amos Lonokailua-Hewett. “Your report not only helps your own household but contributes to the resilience of our entire community.”

The information provided will be part of a Preliminary Damage Assessment, which is the first step in determining whether Maui County may qualify for federal disaster assistance.

Reports can help officials:

• Document damage to homes, businesses and communities
• Identify unmet needs and the types of assistance people may need
• Support the governor’s request for a federal disaster declaration
• Help determine eligibility for federal assistance, including individual assistance for services such as temporary housing, home repairs and replacing damaged belongings
• Help identify damage to public infrastructure that may qualify for public assistance funding

Residents and businesses are asked to provide as much detailed information as possible, along with photos of the damage that include geolocation information.

To report damage to your home, business or private property, go to www.mauirecovers.org, select “Damage Assessments from Tropical Storm Lala” at the top of the homepage, then follow these steps:

• Select what you are reporting:

- Residential damage – damage to your home.

- Commercial/industrial damage – damage to a business property.

- Debris clearance – significant debris on your property, including building materials, green waste or damaged appliances.

• If you have both property damage and debris, submit a separate report for each.
• Fill in the details: Tell us where the damage occurred, describe what happened, upload photos if available and provide accurate contact information so officials can follow up.

If you see storm damage to public roads, infrastructure, facilities or County-managed areas, report it at https://tinyurl.com/mauicountylala.

• Select the type of damage and use the map to show exactly where it is.
• Upload photos, add a brief description and your contact information, then click “Confirm Details” to submit. Photos are required for public property reports.
