Brief Description:

The Interim Housing Program is an ongoing multi-sector collaborative approach designed to provide opportunities for residents to bridge from disaster recovery temporary housing, to post-disaster permanent housing. This planning effort provides housing pathways for residents through collaborative Federal, State, and local support programs. The scope is designed for the system to operate holistically and efficiently to pipeline residents into newly funded development and constructed housing as it becomes available.

Milestones:

  • July 2024: Governor Green Announces Interim Housing Program for Maui Wildfire Survivors
  • June 2026: Drafting of the Temporary to Permanent Interim Housing Strategic Plan continues.

Lahaina Royal Complex Master Plan

The County of Maui Department of ʻŌiwi Resources is currently working with Group 70 International, Inc. (G70) to develop the Lahaina Royal Complex Master Plan. The project scope includes hydrology and water policy; wildfire resiliency and risk planning; biological and ecological assessment; cultural landscape architecture; community engagement protocol; transportation circulation planning; topographical survey; cultural and archaeological studies; soils and geotechnical studies; and boundary mapping.
